  2. Format: both papers are in written format, each consisting of 100 single-best-answer (SBA) questions.    
  3. Topics Included: This part covers the basic subjects such as anatomy, physiology, pathology, embryology, genetics, pharmacology, and evidence-based practice.    

Part 2: Clinical Application of Knowledge

  1. No. Of papers: like the first part, the second one also includes 2 papers.   
  2. Format: the SBA and Extended Matching Questions (EMQs) make up the MRCOG-2 exam. 
  3. Topics Included: It focuses on clinical scenarios of O&G and related topics. Mostly, it includes antenatal care, maternal medicine, gynecological oncology, urogynaecology, infertility, contraception, and sexual health.    

Part 3: Clinical Skills Assessment

  1. Format: the final and third part of this exam is vital; it includes an Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) comprising 14 task-based stations.    
  2. Topics Included: the second part, evaluates clinical skills. Additionally, it also assesses your skills in patient communication, decision-making, medical ethics, leadership, and professionalism.  

What is the MRCOG Eligibility Criteria?

a. Medical Registration

c. Training Requirements

MRCOG Eligibility Criteria for Part 2

For the MRCOG Part 2 examination, candidates must have the following credentials:    

  • All candidates should have successfully passed the MRCOG Part 1 examination.    
  • Meet the training requirements specified by the RCOG, which may include completion of a specified period of clinical training in obstetrics and gynecology.    
  • Submit an eligibility application form to the RCOG, providing necessary documentation, including proof of training and identification.    

The eligibility application must be submitted by the specified deadline, and processing may take a minimum of four weeks.

Before applying for the MRCOG Part 3 examination, every candidate should match the following criteria:
