Who Can Apply for the MRCPI Part 2 Written in the Medical Field?

Firstly, it is for the doctors specialising in the O&G field. Secondly, you cannot attempt this examination directly after graduating with an MBBS. Yes, you have to first pass either MRCOG or FCPS with OBG specialisation.

What are the entry requirements or eligibility for MRCPI Part 2 Written?

As it is an international membership, it does have a long list of requirements, such as:  

  • MRCOG Part I (it is mandatory)   
  • RCPI Professional Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. But it is only awarded from 2023 onwards.   
  • MRCPI Part I (General Medicine or Paediatrics) obtained within the last six years may also be required for entry  
  • MRACOG (Australia)   
  • MRNZCOG (New Zealand)   
  • FCOG (SA)   
  • FCPS (O and G) (Pakistan)   
  • MRANZCOG   
  • MMed (O and G) (Malaysia)

What should I include in my MRCPI O&G written test application?

An attested* copy of your primary medical degree is the first requirement for the online application. Only original parchment Diploma copies are accepted. No transcripts or certificates allowed. Thus, a testimonial form completed and signed by two referees may also be needed for the application process.  

Is there a limit on how many times someone can attempt the written MRCPI Part 2 examination?

All doctors from other countries or Ireland can attempt the MRCPI exam (each part) only six times. It applies to each component of the MRCPI exams.  

How do I prepare for my Part 2 MRCPI Written Test?
